Miniatures

Banteay Srei and lies about 20 km from Away from Siem Reap. The best way to describe it is miniature version of Angkor Wat, and looks like it could of been used exclusively by children because of it’s diminutive size.

The first thing I noticed was how small the doorways were which were only a few feet tall. The walls here are in remarkable condition and are all covered in fine carvings of Hindu gods and helped me imagine what the other temples would have looked like in the past. These are some of the most ornate carvings in the region.

I couldn’t believe that after so long since it was last used Banteay Srei is still standing as well as being in tip-top condition.

With this image I wanted a wide shot of the winding path around the various towers in this site. Combined with the edge of the temple walls, it gives a great effect of leading the eye through the frame toward all the temple guard statues and the towers themselves.

Stay tuned for more tomorrow!
